Changes to the Event

Thank you for your interest in Nelson Community Day 2012. We are writing to let you know about some exciting changes to NCD. As the executive team evaluated this year's event, we decided to make a change to stay true to the original purpose of NCD. The purpose of NCD is to bring together, support, and give back to the community. Therefore, NCD is going to be partnering with the nonprofit organization, Giving Hope. Nelson Community Day will become a major fundraiser for this organization, which helps financially support the victims of cancer right here in our community.

Due to this change, this years event will be postponed, until we can schedule an event together. This will probably take place around May 2013. All proceeds from the event will go to support Giving Hope. We hope that you will see this as an even better purpose to fulfill. Donations and sponsorships you have already made will end up towards Giving Hope. We will communicate more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your support and understanding. We look forward to working with you all soon!

We look forward to your involvement in this even greater event as we celebrate all things Nelson.

Sincerely,

Dear Community Partners

Dear Community Partners,
The tremendous success of last year’s event was demonstrated by over 100 exhibitors and over 1000 attendees. The overwhelming response to Nelson Community Day 2011 stretched our abilities, volunteers and facility. We appreciate the way everyone showed patience and stepped up to bring our community together and have a wonderful time last year. Because the county was so receptive we would like to invite you to the second annual Nelson Community Day on Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at the Oak Ridge Racetrack.

Our purpose for Nelson Community Day continues to be to inform the public about local businesses, organizations, churches, agencies, etc., to increase sales for Nelson County businesses and participation for organizations and to bring members of the community together for fun and fellowship.

You are cordially invited to participate this year as an exhibitor. If you or members of your organization want to go further to serve your community we are also seeking individuals help in various ways on the planning committee and/or to volunteer during the event.

Underneath the "Participants" link above, you will find a participant application and information regarding sponsors and exhibitors. We request that everyone again provide a “draw” to the public in order to attract attendees to your booth. This could be a free sample, a raffle, a demonstration, or activity. If you need help coming up with creative ideas please contact our committee! After April 15th we will open up booth registrations and sponsorships to new participants. Please help us spread the word to other community-minded businesses and organizations.

We look forward to seeing you this year.

Sincerely,
Brian Mininger
